SCE has put together a ride-style attraction for GT4, using a moving cockpit and a three-screen F-355 Challenge-ish display. This time around, it seems that most of the content from this special Tokyo Motor Show version of GT4 will be included in Prologue, eliminating the need for such a title.Īt the far end of the GT4 booth, SCE was showcasing one exciting bit of Gran Turismo technology. Previously, Sony released the Tokyo Motor Show version of Gran Turismo 3 as Gran Turismo Concept 2001 Tokyo. We did too, of course, but the experience hasn't changed too much from previous play tests featured on IGNPS2 (not that we're complaining or anything). People passing by the game were verbally amazed at its graphics quality, and many stopped their business to try out the title for themselves. SCE had the game set up using the new pricey Logitech driving peripheral and with overhead screens showing off the action for passerbyers at the show. Moving roadside spectators (400x300, Quicktime, 3659KB)Ī hint of good things to come to the game, especially since the still crowds seems to be one of the only remaining problems with the graphics engine used in previous builds (even the version on display at the motor show).Ĭoncept shot of moving spectactors.

While previous Gran Turismo games have made strives in these areas, the "human" areas has been left aside. Landscape involves the realistic recreation of courses set throughout the world while cars involves the realistic recreation of real world cars. In previous speeches on the game, Yamauchi has mentioned Polyphony's three main themes: landscape, cars and human. Yamauchi brought with him a short video clip showcasing some never before seen technology to be featured in the final version. Advanced players will be able to try out standard racers as well through the included five courses and take on some of the more advanced challenges (plus, we're sure GT fanatics will just have to get their hands on Prologue for a glimpse at what the final GT4 game will look like.
